Italy, which is part of southern Europe, is an extremely diverse country. The geography ranges from snowy cold mountains to warm, beautiful beaches. Because it is so diverse, it is hard to get bored here. Locations to visit include the beaches of the Adriatic, Ionian, Mediterranean, and Tyrrhenian Seas, the gentle slopes of the Apennines mountain range in central Italy, and the popular tourist cities Venice, with its many canals, Turin, with many architectural beauties, and Florence, a city known for the Renaissance period. One could also visit the city of Rome on the Tiber River, which is rich in culture and history as it was the origin and once the capitol of the Roman Empire. Viewing the infamous Mt. Vesuvius is another activity you can do in Italy, as is visiting the islands of Sicily and Sardinia. The weather is mostly mild and sunny, much like California. This, and good farming soil, make crops like olives and grapes abundant. As you can see, Italy is a country of many faces with many different features when discussing geography.
